It’s lambing season, a busy time for the local crofters. The first lamb on the peninsula was born last week on the day of my arrival. If you tell somebody that you saw a lamb you will be questioned on the colour of the markings of the ewe so that they can find out whose lamb it is. It’s lovely to watch more and more little lambkins skipping about, a happy sight, but I also came across a dead lamb which was obviously attacked by crows- nature can be very cruel.

Die Bauern sind jetzt sehr beschäftigt, wenn man jemandem von einem Lamm erzählt, wird man nach den Farben der Markierungen des Mutterschafes gefragt, daran ist zu erkennen, wessen Lamm es ist.
Es ist ein sehr erfreulicher Anblick die kleinen Lämmchen umherspringen zu sehen, daneben findet sich gelegentlich auch ein totes Lamm, das offensichtlich von Krähen attackiert wurde - die Natur kann sehr grausam sein....
