Here we left the tour and made our way on a small bus up North passing the many inlets of „the Bays“ populated by small villages. The single-track road, narrow twisting and winding through the rocked, rugged terrain is known as the Golden Road. When built in the 1940s by hand or using basic tools only it took a long time to complete, but after the war it was a most welcome employment for the men coming home. At Plocrapool we spend 2 most enjoyable hours with our good friend Katie Campbell, well known for her Harris Tweed weaving demonstrations (www.harristweedproducts.co.uk) before leaving for Lewis again.

Hier verließen wir die Tour und fuhren mit einem kleinen Bus auf der “Golden Road” entlang der kurvenreichen Ostküste und passierten dabei eine Vielzahl der malerisch gelegenen Orte bis wir Plocrapool erreichten, wo wir 2 schöne Stunden bei unserer Freundin Katie Campbell verbrachten, die weltweit für ihre Arbeit mit Harris Tweed bekannt ist.
