About 1 o’clock we reached Rodel where the church of St.Clement is well worth visiting. The oldest part, a 12th century grey stone tower shows how the builders made use of the rocky terrain. The main features of the church, built in the 16th century by Alexander Macleod of Harris and Dunvergan, are 3 tombs, among them the tomb of the builder himself with magnificient carvings in black gneiss.
Gegen 1 Uhr erreichten wir unser Ziel die Kirche St. Clement in Rodel, eines der wenigen historischen Baudenkmäler auf den Inseln. Der Turm aus dem 12. Jh. und die Kirche selbst aus dem 16. Jh. sind sehr sehenswert. Das Innere beherbergt 3 feine, reich ausgeschmückte Steingräber.
