30.12. On a windy day LOCH TRIALLAVAT, a freshwater loch in our neigbourhood is a great place to go to. Surrounded by hills you can always find shelter there. When the children were small they used to launch their wooden boats on the loch and waited patiently on the other side for the ship to land. Sometimes it would take longer when a gust of wind had broken the little sail and the small vessel depended on the waves to carry her ashore- but we never lost any of the wooden boats.

In later years the boys were fishing for trout on Loch Triallavat, another outdoor-activity which requires a lot of patience.

I soon left the loch and climbed crosscountry among hillocks and rocks where the sun rising after some heavy rainshowers opened some beautiful vistas to REEF BEACH or the small island off the coast.

An einem windigen Tag findet man am LOCH TRIALLAVAT, einem Süßwassersee in der näheren Umgebung immer Windschutz. Als die Kinder klein waren, haben sie hier ihre Boote vom Stapel gelassen. Manchmal, wenn eine Böje das Segel beschädigte, konnte es eine Weile dauern bis das kleine Schiff am gegenüberliegenden Ufer anlegte. In den letzten Jahren allerdings lockte der See mehr zum Forellen-Angeln, eine weitere Aktivität, die reichlich Geduld verlangt.

Ich verließ heute bald das Ufer des Sees und kletterte querfeldein zwischen kleinen Hügeln und Felsen umher. Nach heftigen Regenschauern eröffnete die Sonne interessante Ausblicke auf den Strand von REEF oder die kleinen Inseln vor der Küste.
